Fine Motor Activities
1.Playdough
You don’t need to buy expensive playdough, you can easily make your own. Apart from it being cheap, the other advantage is that you can add different ingredients to make it more fun. E.g. herbs, spices, food colouring, etc. Here’s the recipe:
You need:
●2 cups plain flour (all purpose)
●2 tablespoons vegetable oil
●1/2 cup salt
●2 tablespoons cream of tartar
●Up to 1.5 cups boiling water (adding in increments until it feels just right)
●food colouring (optional)
●few drops glycerine (optional- adds more shine!)
2. Baking
All that kneading, rolling, cutting, sprinkling.
3. Cutting
Give your child a free magazine and a pair of child’s scissors. You will be surprised how much fun they can have just cutting up paper!
4. Buttons and zips
Let your child do up and undo their buttons and zips. A brilliant fine motor activity but you might have to start getting ready a bit earlier than usual to still leave on time
5. Gardening
